BSC Winter Health Awareness Day

Raising awareness of health issues amongst the vulnerable

Bangladeshi Support Centre (BSC) is an award winning community organisation with more than 14 years of excellent track record of planning and delivering community projects, big and small, in Ipswich and Suffolk.

On Tuesday 26 February 2013, BSC organised a health event in partnership with Ipswich and East Suffolk CCG and other community organisations to raise awareness of common health issues during the winter period. There were many presentations on different health issues, taster exercise sessions, winter health packs, free health checks, Tai Chi, launch of a booklet on health issues and other activities.

Around 200 people of diverse background attended the event at Manor Ballroom focusing on those who are especially vulnerable. Guest speakers included Dr Peter Holloway, local GP and member of Ipswich and East Suffolk CCG, Cllr David Ellesemere, Leader of Ipswich Borough Council, Cllr Mary Blake, The Mayor of Ipswich, and Mr Boshor Ali, Chair of Bangladeshi Support Centre. The event was a great success!
