Christmas Wishes social media campaign to support winter health and wellbeing

The drive to support people’s health and wellbeing this winter is being given a boost with the launch of a series of new short videos on social media

Called the Christmas Wishes campaign, in the run up to Christmas a  number of different videos will be posted on Twitter and Facebook, each fronted by one of the many health and care organisations across east and west Suffolk and north east Essex.
The videos will each offer a brief and succinct take on how people can best look after their own physical and mental health needs and that of their family, friends and neighbours. It is hoped they will give people all the information they need to keep well, where to go for help should they need it, how to access trusted facts on COVID-19 vaccinations and what actions they can take to support the most vulnerable in our communities during the cold winter months.
The videos are being created in-house by the local clinical commissioning groups’ communications team, working with many partners including Active Essex, Community 360, Community Action Suffolk, local hospitals, primary care professionals and staff and volunteers from across the area.
The CCGs’ have around 12,000 followers across their Twitter accounts and 10,000 Facebook followers and it is hoped the messages will be widely shared. By supporting this campaign individuals and local organisations will be helping their local NHS during this very busy time and aid keep our communities happy and well.
The campaign kicks off on Wednesday December 1 with a video from Active Essex, which you can see HERE
Dr Ed Garratt, who leads the CCGs, said: “This campaign is a real joined-up effort by our many health and care partners to reach as many people as possible to support their good health and wellbeing during the winter.
“I’m particularly proud that we’ve created this campaign ourselves using our own talented team and am very grateful for the help given by our partners to make this happen.
“The NHS has never been so busy and it’s our Christmas Wish that we all do what we can to support it.”
