The Ipswich and East Suffolk CCG held a Dementia Consultation Workshop on 26 February 2013.
The workshop aimed at gathering in depth views from a wide range of people who provide frontline dementia services in the Ipswich and East Suffolk region as we look to improve diagnosis rates, to develop more comprehensive integrated local services and to ensure an effective response to the needs of people affected by dementia.
The workshop was led by the CCG's Dementia lead, Dr Karen Blades and was attended by people from across the region including representatives from community organisations, the voluntary sector, home care agencies, people from nursing and residential care homes, Suffolk County Council, NSFT, Ipswich Hospital, GPs and staff from Ipswich and East Suffolk CCG. The workshop tables considered dementia diagnosis, care provision and what people considered a successful dementia service would look like. The findings of their discussions will help to inform the process to improve services.
