The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has today rated the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust’s improved position as ‘requiring improvement’

In response, Dr Ed Garratt the Chief Executive of the NHS Ipswich and East Suffolk and NHS West Suffolk clinical commissioning groups, said this:

“We are pleased to see that the CQC has awarded NSFT with an improved rating on last year. There are many positive aspects that show services are improving, and it recognises improved executive leadership. I would like to pay tribute to the hard working staff and leaders within NSFT for achieving this, as it will only have a positive impact for people using the services.

“There is more work to do to strive for a CQC position of ‘good’. I am concerned that inspectors found specialist community mental health for young people to be ‘inadequate’. As a system of leaders working across the NHS, social care and voluntary sector, we will redouble our efforts to support improvement in these services.

“The welfare of the people and communities we all serve, ensuring they have access to quality care and services when they need them, is our priority.”
