System holds Ask An Expert event for students

Students studying in colleges and universities across Suffolk and north east Essex have been invited to join an “Ask an Expert” event tomorrow evening.

They will have an opportunity to hear from local health professionals and education leaders and be able to ask them questions about the COVID-19 vaccine as well as put any concerns they may have to the panel.

The event will take place on Wednesday September 29 at 5.30 p.m.

Simon Morgan, associate director of communications for the Suffolk and North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Groups, said: “Although our area continues to perform well in the delivery of COVID-19 vaccinations across all the eligible age groups, we know that many students have concerns about getting vaccinated.

“Much of these concerns are fuelled by wholly incorrect social media posts and blogs.

“We want to present the true facts, so we’ve assembled a panel of experts including the area’s chief nurse, a family doctor, public health experts and university leaders.

“We’ve held a number of these Ask the Expert events in the past and they’re an excellent opportunity for people to get true and accurate information from those clinical experts who know what they’re talking about.

“There will be lots of opportunity for discussion and questions and we encourage students to join us.”
