Have your free NHS Health Check and you will be better prepared for the future and be able to take steps to maintain or improve your health.
The NHS Health Check is for adults in England between the ages of 40 and 74. It will give you and your GP a clearer picture of your health, and help you take action to reduce your risk of heart disease, stroke, type two diabetes and kidney disease.
If you're in the 40-74 age group without a pre-existing condition, you can expect to receive a letter from your GP or local authority inviting you for a free NHS Health Check. Don't worry if you haven't got your invitation yet, as you will be invited for one over the next few years. In the meantime, if you are worried about your health, you should contact your GP in the usual way.
